  Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

 
RESIDENTIAL BREAK AND ENTER ARRESTS INVOLVING A STOLEN VEHICLE C11-219378
On October 16th, 2011, at approximately 3:40 a.m., a break and enter occurred at a residence located in the 500 block of Ingersoll Street. As a result, a silver 2010 Rav4 was stolen from the home at which time police were notified.   
 
On October 17th, 2011, at approximately 2:00 p.m., uniform members responded to a residential break and enter at home located in the 400 block of Walker Avenue.
 
Attending members confirmed that a break and enter had occurred, however the suspect(s) occupying a vehicle fled the area. It was determined that a variety of electronics and jewellery had been stolen from the home.
 
Shortly after 2:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service observed a stolen vehicle matching the description of the previously stolen Rav4. Officers observed two occupants in the vehicle while in the area of Osborne Street and Mulvey Avenue. The driver attempted to evade police at which time a pursuit was initiated. The suspect driver was observed to be operating the stolen vehicle in an unsafe manner having no regard for public safety. Due to the actions of the suspect, a civilian vehicle including a police cruiser was struck causing damage to both. The pursuit was aborted due to safety concerns in the area of Wellington Crescent.
 
A short time later, the same stolen vehicle was observed in the area of Westminster Avenue and Furby Street. Officers initiated a second pursuit of the vehicle when again it became apparent that the driver was attempting to evade police. Due to the manner of driving by the suspect, the stolen vehicle struck a hydro pole in the area of the 200 block of Balmoral Street, also causing damage to two parked vehicles.  
 
The male driver of the stolen vehicle attempted to flee the scene on foot, however was apprehended by attending members. A female occupant was also taken into custody at this time.
 
David George DRAGINDA, 29 years has been charged with numerous offences in relation to his alleged involvement.
 
Lisa Anne MCNEILLY, 25 years has been charged with numerous offences in relation to her alleged involvement.
 
They were detained. The investigation is continuing.
 
 
RESIDENTIAL ROBBERY C11-219643
On October 17th, 2011, at approximately 8:25 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to residential robbery in the area of the 500 block of Stella Avenue.
 
At this stage of the investigation, it appears that three armed suspects entered the home and confronted a 39 year old male and 38 year old female. Money was demanded at which time the male occupant was assaulted to the upper body.
 
An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen and the suspects fled.
 
The suspects are described as:
 
1 - Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 16-20 years of age, 5'8" tall, stocky build, clean shaven, chubby face, light brown eyes and fair complexion and in possession of a handgun.
 
2 – Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 16-20 years of age, 5'5"-5'6" tall, skinny build, clean shaven, darker complexion and short dark hair.
 
3 – Male, heavy build and fair complexion.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
SUSPICIOUS PERSON C11-219490
On October 17th, 2011, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of the Avenue De La Cathedrale regarding a suspicious vehicle and occupant.
 
Information was provided indicating that a lone male driver was observed in the area and appeared to be video taping children nearby.
 
The children involved notified an adult at which time police were summoned. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
 
The suspect and vehicle is described as:
 
Suspect – Male, Caucasian, 35-40 years of age, clean shaven, short black hair, heavy build and in possession of a small camera.
 
Suspect vehicle – Mid-size Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) resembling a Jeep, blue in colour, with some minor body damage and rust.
