Winnipeg Police Service News Release

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011 10:00 a.m.     SERIOUS ASSAULT INVESTIGATION   C11-209343 On Monday, October 3rd, 2011 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service members responded to the rear lane in the 600 block of Main Street for a report of an injured male.     Upon arrival, officers discovered a 47 year old male victim who appeared to have been physically assaulted.  Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital in unstable condition for serious upper body injures.   The victim's condition has been upgraded to critical- stable condition.    Members of the Major Crimes Unit are continuing with this investigation.      For further information contact either: Constable Natalie Aitken, Public Information Officer Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Office: (204)986-3061 Fax: (204) 986-3267 Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca   Web: www.winnipeg.ca/Police
