Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

OFFICER CHARGED C11-215984
On October 13th, 2011, at approximately 8:15 a.m., a 41 year old male officer with the RCMP was arrested by Winnipeg Police Service members in the City of Winnipeg in relation to a domestic related matter.
 
The officer has been charged with: Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm x 2 and detained.
 
No further details will be provided.
 
 
FREE VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTION CLINIC
The Winnipeg Police Service Vehicle Inspection Section in conjunction with Manitoba Public Insurance Standards and Technologies will be offering a free motor vehicle inspection clinic. This event will be held on Sunday, October 16th from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Manitoba Public Insurance Service Centre, 420 Pembina Highway. 
 
As a Public Service they will provide a vehicle safety inspection and an informational check sheet but will not issue offence notices or do any follow-up for re-inspects for defects or infractions.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service, including our partners in the transportation industry is committed to promoting safety for all motorists using the streets and highways throughout Winnipeg and Manitoba.
 
Due to the large number of vehicles in attendance during the previous Vehicle Safety Inspection Clinic, the number of Inspectors will be increased in order to decrease wait times.
