BREACH OF AMUSEMENTS ACT INVESTIGATION – SCALPING ARREST R11-93712
On October 4th, 2011, members of the Winnipeg Police Service, Vice Unit entered into an online investigation involving an ad posted for NHL hockey tickets.
 
Officers working in an undercover capacity met with the seller at which time the transaction was completed and the tickets were sold for an amount greater than face value.
 
It was at this time a 37 year old male was arrested and issued a Provincial Offence Notice for Breach of the Amusement Act, Section 60 (Scalping) and subsequently released.

On October 6th, 2011, members of the Winnipeg Police Service, Vice Unit entered into an online investigation involving an ad posted for NHL hockey tickets.
 
Officers working in an undercover capacity met with the seller at which time the transaction was completed and the tickets were sold for an amount greater than face value.
 
It was at this time a 50 year old male was arrested and issued a Provincial Offence Notice for Breach of the Amusement Act, Section 60 (Scalping) and subsequently released.
 
 
 
The Winnipeg Police Service would like to remind members of the public to be cautious when making any purchases via the internet.
 
 
GROW OPERATION ARRESTS – R11-86722
As a result of an ongoing investigation, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Drug Unit/Green Team, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and Street Crimes Unit, executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant at four separate residences.
 
On October 5th, 2011, CDSA search warrants were executed and the following seized:
 
·        100 block of Harrow Street – 64 marihuana plants – estimated street value over $71,000.00, grow operation equipment valued at $2,500.00
 
·        400 block of Rue Ritchot – 354 marihuana plants – estimated street value over $395,000.00, grow operation equipment valued at $10,000.00
 
·        1000 block of Lorette Avenue – 60 marihuana plants – estimated street value over $67,000.00, grow operation equipment valued at $2,500.00
 
·        300 block of Morley Avenue – 48 marihuana plants – estimated street value over $53,000.00, grow operation equipment valued at $3000.00
 
A 38 year old male was located and arrested in a home on Rue Ritchot. A 36 year old female and 19 year old male were located and arrested in a home on Harrow Street.
 
All three accused are facing numerous drug related offences. They were released on a Promise to Appear.
