Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

 

  Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

 
STOLEN VEHICLE ARREST – C11-224600
On October 24th, 2011, at approximately 11:45 p.m., District 3 Uniform Patrol members observed a stolen vehicle (Mazda 3) being operated at a high rate of speed in the area of Burrows Avenue and Arlington Street.
 
Officers attempted a traffic stop however, the suspect made every effort to evade police. The stolen vehicle continued to be operated in a dangerous manner having no regard for public safety. Officers pursued the stolen vehicle.
 
Due to the manner of driving by the suspect, the stolen vehicle came to a stop in the area of the 700 block of Arlington Street after colliding with two parked vehicles (Ford Focus & Dodge Truck).
 
A 19 year old male suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
 
He was treated for non-life threatening injuries and is facing numerous charges regarding his involvement.
 
The investigation is continuing.
 
 
FIRE C11-224651
On October 25th, 2011, at approximately 2:10 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a working fire at a residence located in the 300 block of Agnes Street.
 
It has since been revealed that four occupants safely exited the home. The cause of the fire and damage sustained is still under investigation.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
 
FIRE C11-224669
On October 25th, 2011, at approximately 3:15 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a working fire at a building in the area of the 200 block of Logan Avenue.
 
An adult female was conveyed to hospital in stable condition.
 
As a result of the fire, significant damage occurred however, the cause is still under investigation.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Arson Strike Force. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 986-6813 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
MISSING PERSON – RODERICK SINCLAIR – R11-100148
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a 22 year old male – Roderick SINCLAIR. He was last seen on October 15th, 2011. SINCLAIR frequents the downtown area and was last seen in the Osborne Village. It is out of character for SINCLAIR not to have regular contact with family members and investigators are concerned for his well-being.
 
 
SINCLAIR is described as: Aboriginal, 5'7" tall, 130lbs, black hair in a brush cut style and brown eyes. SINCLAIR has a large cross tattoo on his right shoulder and "A-Rod" on his neck.
 
Anyone with information regarding SINCLAIR's whereabouts is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at  986-6250.
