Sunday, October 23rd, 2011 11:00 a.m. MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION C11-223190 On October 22nd, 2011 at approximately 9:15 p.m. the Winnipeg Police Service received reports of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that had occurred near the intersection of Main Street and Sutherland Avenue. Upon arrival an injured adult male was located and subsequently transported to the hospital in critical condition. As a result of the police investigation northbound Main Street at Higgins Avenue had been closed to vehicular traffic for several hours. The 41 year old male pedestrian has since been upgraded to stable condition. This investigation is continuing by Central Traffic Unit members. MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION C11-223185 On October 22nd, 2011 at approximately 9:20 p.m. emergency services responders were dispatched to the intersection of Grant Avenue and Stafford Street for a report of motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Paramedics transported the 21 year old male pedestrian to the hospital in unstable condition and he has since been upgraded to stable condition. There were no other reported injuries. Central Traffic Unit members are continuing with this investigation. SHOTS FIRED C11-223356 On October 23rd, 2011 at approximately 1:45 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service East District officers responded to the area of the 300 block of Union Avenue for a report of shots being fired. Upon arrival officers determined that a number of shots had been discharged into the occupied residence. There were no reported injuries. Members of the Major Crimes Unit are continuing with this investigation. COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C11-223445 On October 23rd, 2011 shortly before 5:30 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service Members were dispatched to a convenience store located within the 1600 block of St. Marys Road for a report of a commercial robbery that had just occurred. The investigation has revealed that two male suspects, one armed with a knife and the other, bear spray, entered the store and immediately attended behind the counter. The suspects proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of cigarettes before fleeing the store. Two male clerks working at the time, were not injured. Both suspects are described as: Caucasian males in their late teens to early twenties, approximately 6'0" tall with medium builds. Both males were wearing hoodies, blue jeans and had their faces concealed. This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
