Thursday, October 27th, 2011 ATTEMPT VEHICLE ROBBERY C11-225424 On October 26th, 2011, at approximately 7:45 a.m., District 3 Uniform Patrol members responded to an attempt vehicle robbery incident in the area of Selkirk Avenue and Andrews Street. Attending members met with a 49 year old female victim who had been operating a Dodge Caravan. She related that at approximately 6:20 a.m., she parked her vehicle in the area of the 500 block of Selkirk Avenue. Upon exiting, she was confronted by two unknown males who initially asked her if she had a "light." The victim declined and began to walk away. It was at this time one of the suspects stepped in front of the victim and physically made contact with her. He demanded a ride however, the victim attempted to walk away a second time. The suspect then physically assaulted the victim to the upper body when demands for a ride continued. The victim, fearing for her safety fled to her vehicle and managed to lock the doors. As she was attempting to leave the area, one of the suspects stepped in front of the vehicle. The suspects subsequently kicked and punched at her vehicle causing minor damage. The victim eventually drove off and the suspects fled the area. Members of the Winnipeg Police Service were notified. The suspects are described as: Suspect 1 Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 20 years, 5'5" tall, husky build, chubby face, short black hair, dark eyes, unshaven and wearing dark clothing. Suspect 2 Male, Aboriginal in appearance, thin build and wearing dark clothing. The investigation is continuing by members of the District 3 Crime Unit.
