ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON – ARRESTS C11-50368
On March 14, 2011 at approximately 11:55 a.m., Officers responded to the 700 block of Jefferson Avenue as a result of several youths having been pepper sprayed.
 
The investigation has revealed that a confrontation occurred between several youths resulting in one of the suspects producing a can of pepper spray. The matter escalated at which time the pepper spray was discharged in the direction of several individuals in the area. The suspects fled and police were notified.
 
All of the victims involved were treated and released at the scene for effects caused by the pepper spray.
 
The investigation continued by District 3 Uniform members and the District 3 Crime Unit.
 
At approximately 1:30 p.m., investigating members arrested a 16 year old male as a result of the incident. He is facing a charge of Assault with a Weapon and was released on a Promise to Appear.
 
Investigators have made a second arrest earlier this morning. A 17 year old male is currently in police custody and is facing charges. 
 
 
FINANCIAL ROBBERY C11-50464
On March 14, 2011 at approximately 3:00 p.m., Uniform members responded to a robbery incident that occurred at a financial institution located in the 1100 block of Rothesay Street.
 
The investigation has revealed that a lone male suspect entered the bank while armed with a knife and immediately made his way behind the teller counter. The suspect confronted a 65 year old male employee and began removing an undisclosed amount of cash.
 
There were no injuries.
 
The suspect fled the bank on foot in a southbound direction. He is described as: Male, Caucasian, in his 30's, approximately 6'1" tall, medium build, 170-175 lbs., wearing dark clothing and a bandana covering his face.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact investigators at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C11-50647
On March 14, 2011 at approximately 8:20 p.m., patrolling members were dispatched to a robbery of a convenience store located in the 800 block of Arlington Street.
 
It has been determined that two male suspects entered the store, one of which was armed with a handgun. The armed suspect confronted a 57 year old employee and demanded cash. An undisclosed amount of money was provided and both suspects fled the store on foot. 
 
No shots were fired and no injuries were sustained.
 
The suspects are described as:
 
Suspect 1 – Male, Caucasian, 20-25 years of age, 5'5"-5'6" tall, small build and armed with a handgun.
 
Suspect 2 - Male, Caucasian, 20-25 years of age, 5'8" tall and a medium build.
