Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 GRAFFITI ARREST R11-19540 Between January 2009 and March 2011, the Winnipeg Police Service had received reports of graffiti throughout the south east area of the City. Commercial businesses, City of Winnipeg traffic control boxes and an overpass were vandalized with spray paint. The Winnipeg Police Service East District Community Support Unit entered into an investigation and a suspect was identified. On Tuesday, March 8th, 2011 shortly before 6:00 p.m., a search warrant was executed at a residence in the South St. Vital area and a male youth was taken into custody. A number of items have been seized in relation to these offences. A 17 year old male has been arrested and will facing six counts of Mischief Under $5000. He has been released on a Promise to Appear. DRUG WARRANTS- ARRESTS C11-46527 & C11-46193 On Tuesday, March 8th, 2011, in two separate and unrelated investigations, the Winnipeg Police Service Street Crime Unit, along with the assistance of the Drug Unit, executed two Controlled Drug and Substances Search Warrants. The first search warrant was executed at a residence within the 200 block of Bowman Avenue. The following items have been seized:
A 26 year old female and a 37 year old male have both been arrested and will be facing the following charges: - Production of controlled substance - Marihuana - Possessing substance for purposes of trafficking - Marihuana - Possessing controlled drug or substance Marihuana Then at approximately 11:30 p.m., a warrant was executed at a residence within the 500 block Burnell Street. An adult male was taken into custody and the following have been seized: - Approximately 150 Marihuana Plants, with an estimated street value of $168,000.00 - Assorted Grow-operation equipment, valued at $4000.00 A 37 year old male has been arrested and will be facing the following charges: - Production of controlled substance- Cannabis Marihuana - Possessing substance for purposes of trafficking- Cannabis Marihuana - Theft of Telecommunications All three individuals have been released on a Promise to appear.
