WPS PATROLMEN VS NHL LEGENDARY HOCKEY HEROES
 
On Monday, March 21, 2011, the Winnipeg Police Service Patrolmen Hockey Club will be facing off against the NHL Legendary Hockey Heroes, at the 22nd Annual Old Timers' Hockey Challenge.
 
The Game starts at 7:00 p.m. at the MTS Centre in support of the Rainbow Society, which is a Manitoba based charity that provides wishes to children with life threatening illness.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service has made arrangements for FREE entry for all Winnipeg School Safety Patrols to the game. Patrol ID cards or patrol vests will be required.
 
In addition, the Winnipeg Police Service is proud to announce that Winnipeg's new singing sensation, MARIA ARAGON will be performing the Canadian National Anthem at the game.
 
Maria is a student at a Winnipeg school and a former School Patrol. She has a very successful You Tube Video, with over twenty million views. She has recently performed with Lady Ga Ga at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.
 
The following NHL Legends will be playing in the game;
 
Hall of Famers: Johnny Bower (Coach), Glenn Anderson, Bryan Trottier, Billy Smith, will be joined by Councillor Thomas Steen, Ab McDonald (Coach) Laurie Boschman, Dave Babych, Dave Ellett, Jimmy Mann, Theoren Fleury, Trevor Kidd, Valerie Bure, Bernie Nichols, Cliff Ronning, and Bob Bourne. Referee Ron Hogarth and TSN's Rod Black will add to the competitive spirit, fun and antics of the game.
 
Chief Keith McCaskill, will once again be behind the bench coaching the Patrolmen.
 
The Winnipeg Police Patrolmen Hockey Club has raised over $200,000.00 for Manitoba Charities.

At today's briefing, members of the media will be provided complimentary tickets to the game and a set of Winnipeg Police Service Patrolmen Crime Prevention Hockey Trading Cards.
