Winnipeg Police Service News Release

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 15th, 2010     FESTIVE SEASON CHECKSTOP PROGRAM     IMPAIRED DRIVER- ARREST           C10-283881 On Sunday December 14th, 2010, shortly before 8:00 p.m. a male was operating his vehicle in the area of McPhillips Street and Jefferson Avenue at a high rate of speed when he was stopped by members of the Winnipeg Police Service Festive Checkstop Program.   As a result of this incident a 25 year old male will be facing charges of Drive Impaired and Drive Over 80 mgs%.   The male's name will be released once formal charges are laid.   IMPAIRED DRIVER- ARREST          C10-284074 On Sunday December 14th, 2010, at approximately 1:40 a.m. a female was allegedly operating a vehicle on north bound of Main Street approaching Logan Avenue at a high rate of speed.  This female failed to stop for a red light at Logan Avenue and was observed by members of the Winnipeg Police Service Festive Checkstop Program.   As a result of this incident, Margaret Phyllis BALE, 20 years of Arbourg, Manitoba has been charged with Drive Impaired and Failure to Provide Breath Sample.   For further information contact either: Constable Natalie Aitken, Public Information Officer Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Office: (204)986-3061 Fax: (204) 986-3267 Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca   Web: www.winnipeg.ca/Police
