COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C10-289204
On December 21, 2010 at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers responded to a commercial robbery at a restaurant located in the 200 block of Carlton Street.
 
The investigation has revealed that a lone male suspect, while armed with a knife attended to the bar area of the restaurant and confronted a 20 year old female employee. The suspect subsequently demanded that the till be opened. An undisclosed amount of cash was provided and the suspect fled the area on foot.
 
The victim, including another employee (a 26 year old male) followed the suspect southbound on St Mary Avenue. At one point, the suspect stopped and confronted the other employee with a metal object. The victim was not injured and the suspect made good his escape.
 
The suspect is described as: Male, Caucasian, 32 -35 years of age, heavy build, clean shaven and short dark hair.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact investigators at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
RESIDENTIAL ROBBERY C10-289364
On December 21, 2010 at approximately 9:20 p.m., uniform members were dispatched to a residential robbery at a home located in the 500 block of Simcoe Street.
 
It has been determined that 3 or 4 male suspects attended to the residence and confronted 2 occupants, a 59 year old male and 65 year old female. The suspects made demands and subsequently assaulted the male to the upper body with an unknown object, causing a minor injury.
 
One of the suspects armed with a gun confronted the female victim. As a result of what was taking place, the female victim activated the panic button on the house alarm.
 
The suspects fled the area. Nothing was stolen as a result of the incident.
 
The suspects are described as: 3-4 males, approximately 20-25 years, 5'8"-"6'0" in height and a medium build.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact investigators at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
