Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Monday, December 13th, 2010   FESTIVE SEASON CHECKSTOP IMPAIRED DRIVING ARRESTS     IMPAIRED DRIVER ARREST – C10/281641 On December 11th, 2010, at approximately 8:40 p.m., a 51 yr old male was observed operating a vehicle in the area of Portage Avenue and Smith Street. The male admitted to consuming alcohol to members of the Winnipeg Police Service Festive Checkstop Program and subsequently failed an Alcohol Screening Device.   As a result of this incident a 51 year old male faces charges of Drive Impaired and Drive Over 80 mg/%.The male's name will be released once formal charges are laid.     IMPAIRED DRIVER ARREST – C10/281573 On December 11th, 2010, at approximately 6:50 p.m., a male was found asleep in a vehicle on Portage Avenue at Sherbrook Street. The Winnipeg Police Service uniform members arrested the 35 year old male at the scene.   As a result, the 35 year old male is facing charges of Drive Impaired, Refuse Breathalyser and Drive without Licence. The male's name will be released once formal charges are laid.     IMPAIRED DRIVER ARREST – C10/281158 On December 11th, 2010, at approximately 4:50 a.m., a male was found asleep in a vehicle in the 600 block of Regent Avenue. The Winnipeg Police Service uniform members arrested a 24 year old male at the scene.   As a result, the 24 year old male is facing charges of Care and Control of motor vehicle and Drive Over 80 mg/%. The male's name will be released once formal charges are laid.     IMPAIRED DRIVER ARREST – C10/281854 On December 12th, 2010, shortly after 1:20 a.m., a 30 year old female crashed a vehicle into a ditch in the area of Gunn Road and Plessis Road. Uniform members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended the scene and arrested the female.   As a result of this incident a 30 year old female faces charges of Drive Impaired and Drive Over 80 mg/%. Her name will be released once formal charges are laid.   IMPAIRED DRIVER ARREST – C10/281771 On December 11th, 2010, shortly after 11:30 p.m., a male was observed operating a vehicle in an erratic manner striking a building, then fleeing area. He eventually lost control of his vehicle, crashing into the ditch in the area of Dugald Road. Uniform members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended the scene and arrested an adult male.   As a result of this incident a 31 year old male faces charges of Drive Impaired and Drive Over 80 mg/% and Leave the Scene of Motor Vehicle Collision. The male's name will be released once formal charges are laid.     IMPAIRED DRIVER ARREST – C10/282329 On December 12th, 2010, shortly after 7:20 p.m., a 41 year old male was observed operating a vehicle in the area of Henderson Highway and McLeod Avenue when he was stopped by members of the Winnipeg Police Service Festive Checkstop Program.   As a result of this incident a 41 year old male faces charges of Drive Impaired and Drive Over 80 mg/% and Drive Disqualified (for previous Impaired Offence). The male's name will be released once formal charges are laid.     IMPAIRED DRIVER ARREST – C10/282373 On December 12th, 2010, shortly after 9:00 p.m., a male was observed operating a vehicle in the area of Henderson Highway and Fraser's Grove. The 51 year old male was stopped by members of the Winnipeg Police Service Festive Checkstop Program and arrested.   As a result of this incident a 51 year old male faces charges of Drive Impaired and Drive Over 80 mg/%.
