STRONGARM  ROBBERY            C12-126801
On Sunday, July 1, 2012 at approximately 5:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 200 block of Isabel Street regarding for the report of a strongarm robbery.
 
The investigation revealed that at approximately 4:30 a.m., two male suspects armed with a firearm approached two male victims ages 20 and 26 in the area of the 200 block of Isabel Street.
 
The suspects demanded and received cash and personal items from the victims. Both victims were threatened with bodily harm and were assaulted during the incident.
 
The victims were able to flee to nearby locations for assistance; however, the suspects followed one of the victims to a nearby convenience store where an altercation took place. The suspects fled from the location and returned with three other male suspects. The victim was again assaulted by the suspects and sustained upper body injury. All suspects fled from the location.
 
Both victims sustained minor injuries as a result of this incident.
 
The suspects are described as following:
  • Suspect #1: Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 5'9"-5'10" tall, approximately 20 years old, 140 pounds, thin build, short dark hair, goatee facial hair, tattoo on right forearm 
  • Suspect #2: Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 5'9" – 5'10" tall, approximately 20 years old, slim build, short dark hair with bruising under eyes  
  • Suspect #3: Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 6'2" – 64" tall, heavy build, approximately 30 – 40 years old  
  • Suspect #4:  Male, Aboriginal in appearance, average height and build, approximately 21 – 27 years old, long hair worn in a ponytail  
  • Suspects #5: Male, Aboriginal in appearance
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
 
STRONGARM  ROBBERY ARRESTS   C12-127129
On Sunday, July 1, 2012 at approximately 7:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the Forks Market for the report of a strongarm robbery.
 
The investigation revealed that three male victims ages, 17, 16 and 14 were at the Forks Market for Canada Day Celebrations and were approached by thee male suspects ages 19, 17 and 15. The suspects demanded the victims' personal property and threatened to spray them with an irritant substance if they did not comply.
 
The suspects received personal items from the victims and fled from the location. The attending officers immediately searched the area and located the suspects in the area of the Osborne Street Bridge. The suspects were arrested and taken into custody.
 
A 15 year old male has been charged with Robbery with Weapon X3 and Fail to Comply with Sentence X 2. He was detained in custody.
 
A 17 year old male has been charged with Robbery with Weapon X3. He was detained in custody.
 
A 19 year old male has been charged with Robbery with Weapon X3, Fail to Comply with Condition of Recognizance, Breach of Probation X 2 and Public Mischief. He was detained in custody.
