WINNIPEG CRIME STOPPERS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PAW TIPSTERS

Each year, Winnipeg Crime Stoppers receives thousands of tips from members of the public which assist in the solving of crimes in our city.

Recently, Winnipeg Crime Stoppers was approached by PAW Tipsters, a non-profit charitable organization with a focus of combating animal abuse in Manitoba. The aim of the program is to generate tips regarding animal abuse, such as puppy mills and dog fighting rings.

Tips will be received through Crime Stoppers and information forwarded to the appropriate agencies for investigation. Rewards will be awarded based on the outcome of those investigations.

Reporting abuse and cruelty to animals is all of our responsibility.

If you have information on a crime, call Winnipeg Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

FREE VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTION CLINIC

The Winnipeg Police Service Vehicle Inspection Section in conjunction with Manitoba Public Insurance Standards and Technologies will be offering a free motor vehicle inspection clinic. This event will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Manitoba Public Insurance Service Centre, 420 Pembina Highway.

As a Public Service they will provide a vehicle safety inspection and an informational check sheet but will not issue offence notices or do any follow-up for re-inspects for defects or infractions.

The Winnipeg Police Service, including our partners in the transportation industry is committed to promoting safety for all motorists using the streets and highways throughout Winnipeg and Manitoba.

Due to the large number of vehicles in attendance during the previous Vehicle Safety Inspection Clinic, the number of Inspectors will be increased in order to decrease wait times.
