ROBBERY ARRESTS      C12-133726
On July 10, 2012 at approximately 3:15 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a parking lot in the area of McPhillips Street and Mountain Avenue regarding the robbery of a taxi cab driver.
 
The investigation revealed that a male and female summoned a taxi cab that was being operated by a 45 year old male in the area of McPhillips Street and Mountain Avenue. The male suspect entered the front passenger seat and the female suspect the rear passenger seat. Once inside the vehicle the suspects produced a firearm, demanded cash and ordered the victim dive them to another location.
 
The victim turned over an undisclosed amount of cash, at which time both suspects exited the vehicle and fled from the location.
 
At approximately 5:10 a.m., the same male suspect without the the female suspect  attended to the area of the 300 block of Powers Street and confronted a lone 67 year old male who was sitting in a vehicle. 

 
The male suspect produced a firearm and pointed it directly at the 67 year old victim. The victim fearing for his safety fled from the location and immediately summoned officers who were patrolling in the area.
 
Officers immediately searched the area and located the male suspect on the front street in the 500 block of College Avenue. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. Police searched the area and located and seized the firearm.
 
Members of the District 3 Crime Unit continued the investigation and as a result, at 8:10 p.m., located the female suspect involved in the taxi cab robbery in the area of the 1800 block of Main Street. The female was arrested and taken into custody.
 
A 17 year old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with five weapon related charges and Fail to Comply with Sentence X 3.  He was detained in custody
 
A 16 year old female of Winnipeg, has been charged with Robbery with Firearm, Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Failure to Comply with Sentence. She was detained in custody.
