RENTION POND - SEARCH                                 C12-138746
On July 16, 2012, at approximately 2:00 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the 2400 block of King Edward Street (Albina Park) regarding a possible assault involving a teenage male.
 
Witnesses indicated that the male appeared distraught when he began yelling at passersby. At one point, the male began chasing two individuals who approached him offering assistance.
 
The male was observed to enter the water on at least two occasions when he swam to the middle of the pond. The male appeared to be having difficulty remaining above water.
 
Emergency services attended and began searching the area. The male was not located.
 
Earlier this morning, members of the WPS Underwater Search and Recovery Unit re-attended the scene and commenced a search of the pond.
 
The investigation is continuing.
 
 
SEXUAL ASSAULT                                               C12-139098
On July 16, 2012, at approximately 11:40 p.m., WPS Cadets were patrolling the downtown area when they came upon a sexual assault incident in progress.
 
The Cadets observed two male suspects assaulting a 28 year old female near the rear lane of the 400 block of Hargrave Street. Due to the Cadets diligence and presence at that time, further assault to the victim was prevented.
 
Additional police resources were called and the two male suspects were taken into custody. 
 
Johnny DUCK, 41 years and Dwight Fabian MCKAY, 27 years have been charged with: Sexual Assault.
 
They have been detained.
