STABBING ARREST         C12-129691
On Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 1:45 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended to the area of the 1000 block of Arlington Street regarding the report of a stabbing incident.
 
The investigation revealed that two male tenants, ages 23 and 56 who live in separate suites at this location, became involved in a verbal altercation. Upon the completion of the altercation the 23 year old male attended to the 56 year old male's suite at which time a stabbing took place. 
 
After the stabbing incident, the 23 year old male re-attended the victim's suite a second time armed with a shovel and attempted to continue the assault. The second attempt to assault the victim was foiled by a tenant who intervened.
 
The 56 year old victim received multiple stab wounds to his upper and lower body causing serious injury. He was conveyed to the hospital by ambulance in unstable condition and has since been upgraded to stable.
 
The 23 year old male was conveyed to the hospital in stable condition with minor injury.
 
Matthew Osharode ANUYAH, 23 years old of Winnipeg has been charged with Attempt Murder. He has been detained in custody.
