COMMERCIAL ROBBERIES – ARREST C12-132562
On June 23, 2012, at approximately 11:20 p.m., a male suspect attended to a business located in the 600 block of Balmoral Street. While inside, the suspect confronted a female employee and demanded cash. An undisclosed amount was obtained and the suspect fled the area.
 
On July 8, 2012, the same male attended to the following locations where robbery attempts occurred:
 
  • 1:30 p.m. – Restaurant – 300 block of York Avenue
  • Same location - Lounge area
  • 1:40 p.m. – Restaurant – 300 block of St. Mary Avenue
  • 1:45 p.m. – Restaurant – 300 block of St. Mary Avenue
During the incidents, the suspect indicted that he was armed with a weapon, however no one was injured.
 
At the time of the final incident, security was notified and attended the location. Prior to police arrival, the suspect was apprehended. The suspect became aggressive and assaulted the security officer causing a minor injury.
 
Murray James GRAY, 49 years has been charged with the following offences due to his alleged involvement:
 
  • Robbery
  • Robbery with Intent x 4
  • Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
