Tuesday, July 24, 2012 4:15 p.m. SERIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION - UPDATE C12-144980 On Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at approximately 10:35 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Cavalier Drive near Rouge Road regarding a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. An investigation revealed that an adult male was crossing the roadway northbound on a mobility scooter at this location, when he was struck by a westbound vehicle. The male was conveyed to the hospital in unstable condition. There is no update on the condition of the male at this time. As a result, Portage Avenue westbound between Rouge Road and Cavalier Drive is still closed to all traffic. Members of the Winnipeg Police Service Central Traffic Unit are on scene.
