VEHICLE ROBBERY – ARREST      C12-127939
On Monday, July 2, 2012 at approximately 10:55 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service while patrolling in the area of Magnus Avenue and Burrows Street came upon a robbery incident.
 
The patrolling officers immediately responded to this incident and learned that a lone female suspect approached a vehicle that was stopped at a stop sign at this location. The suspect opened the unlock passenger vehicle door and grabbed a purse belonging to the lone 49 year old female driver. The victim was able to take hold of her purse, at which time the suspect assaulted the victim causing minor injuries to her upper body.
 
The suspect fled the area without the possession of the purse. Officers immediately searched the area and located the suspect at Magnus Avenue and Charles Street at which time she was arrested and taken into custody.
 
While in police custody the suspect assaulted two police members and threatened them harm. The officers were not injured as a result of the incident.
 
A 16 year old female has been charged with:
  • Robbery with Intent
  • Assault Peace Officer X 2
  • Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm X 2
  • Failure to Comply with Sentence
 
She was detained in custody.
