RESIDENTIAL ROBBERY – C12-146352
On Thursday, July 26, 2012 at approximately 2:40 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 1000 block of Moncton Avenue in regards to a Residential Robbery.
 
Attending officers met with a 24 year old male who advised that at approximately 1:30 a.m. he was outside his residence where he was confronted by four male youths who demanded personal property.  The victim was then forced into his residence, followed by three of the youths while the fourth remained outside.  Two of the youths physically assaulted the victim and then all suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of property.
 
The victim was not injured during the incident.
 
At approximately 4:10 p.m. members of the Major Crimes Unit located two of the suspects in the area of Regent Avenue and Plessis Road at which time they were arrested.  Further investigation led to the arrest of the two remaining suspects later in the day.
 
A 15 year old male youth has been detained in custody and charged with the following:
  • Break, Enter dwelling house
  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Assault
A 13 year old male youth was released on a Promise to Appear and is facing the following charges:
  • Break, Enter dwelling house
  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Assault
A 13 year old male youth was released on a Promise to Appear and is facing the following charge:
  • Break, Enter dwelling house
The 10 year old male was released with no charges as he is less than 12 years of age.
 
 
RESIDENTIAL ROBBERY – C12-146979
On Friday, July 27, 2012 at approximately 1:50 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 400 block of Stella Avenue regarding the report of a Residential Robbery.
 
Attending officers met with the 74 year old resident who advised that he had awoken to find an unknown male and female in the residence. The victim was robbed of personal property after which both suspects fled the residence.
 
The victim suffered a minor injury.
 
The male suspect is described as:
 
·        Aboriginal in appearance
·        Shoulder length hair
·        Approximately 6' in height
·        160-180 lbs
·        Dark clothing
 
The female suspect is described as aboriginal in appearance.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call investigators at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
WEAPONS ARREST – C12-147035
On Friday, July 27, 2012 at approximately 12:40 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service General Patrol and the Tactical Support Team responded to the 400 block of Boyd Avenue in regards to the report of a firearm seen.
 
Attending officers located and arrested a male suspect in the 400 block of College Avenue who was in possession of a firearm.
 
A 16 year old male has been detained in custody and has been charged with the following:
 
  • Possession of Weapon Obtained by Crime
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of Firearm, etc, while Prohibited
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00
  • Failure to comply with sentence x 4
