Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

FRAUD ARREST                                                 C11-180779
On Saturday, August 27th, 2011 just after 2:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service uniform members responded to a night club in the 200 block of Bannatyne Ave. regarding an altercation. Two males who were employed as security by the club had detained a suspect who had assaulted them both after they attempted to intervene in a fight.
 
Andrio Andre MARTIN, 25, was arrested at the scene and charged with Assault x 2.
 
It was determined that Martin was on charge for numerous offences in Alberta, and was in breach of his release conditions.
 
Further Investigation conducted by the Commercial Crime Unit revealed the accused was also in possession of numerous counterfeit identity documents with fictitious names, as well as bank cards in fictitious names.
 
Martin had apparently travelled to Winnipeg from Toronto one day earlier under an assumed name supported by a counterfeit driver's licence.
 
Martin was charged with 42 additional offences including:
 
·        Identity Fraud (Fraudulently Obtaining Transportation)
·        Fail to comply with Recognizance x 2
·        Possess Government Identity Documents x 7
·        Possess Forged Documents x 7
·        Possess Identity Information x 7
·        Possess Counterfeit Mark x 7
·        Possess Identity Information x 5
·        Identity Fraud x 5
·        Unauthorized Use of Credit Card Data
 
Martin was detained in custody at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
 
 
COMMERCIAL BREAK IN                                  C11-181729
Sunday, August 28th, 2011 at approximately 6:30 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service members responded to the Windsor Park Golf Course for a report of a break in.
 
An employee of the course had found several golf carts were damaged and numerous carts had been left at various locations around the course. In addition, the course greens had sustained significant damage. Three females were observed riding carts on the course, but fled under the fence when they saw employees. The suspects are described as:
 
  1. Female, white shirt, white tank top, wavy shoulder length brown hair. Blue or green eyes, 5'5" – 5'6". approximately 110 lbs, 17 -20 years
  2. Female, greenish blanket or towel, tattoo on left side of chest with dyed red hair and dark skin.
  3. Female, taller, jaw length hair, with jean shorts and a red plaid shirt.
 
At approximately 7:15 a.m. police were dispatched to the parking lot at the corner of Fermor St. and St. Annes Road to a report of four males driving golf carts in the area.
 
The suspects were described as:
 
1.      Caucasian, 20 – 25 yrs 5'7" – 5'9", stocky build with wide shoulders, light brown longer hair, wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.
2.      Caucasian, 20 years, 5'6", skinny build, short dark curly hair, wearing black pants, black shoes, and a black hoodie with white writing.
 
Numerous carts were located in the Seine River.
 
Damage estimate is approximately $30,000. The investigation is being conducted by East District Crime Unit.
