Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Monday, August 22nd, 2011   MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING CYCLIST – UPDATE C11-174811 As previously released, on August 19th, 2011 at approximately 1:55 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Mountain Avenue and McGregor Street regarding a serious motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist.   The investigation revealed that a 53 year old male cyclist had been travelling eastbound on Mountain Avenue near McGregor Street when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle turning south onto McGregor Street. After the collision, the vehicle failed to remain at the scene.    The cyclist remains in hospital in stable condition.   The investigation continued by members of the Central Traffic Unit.
