Sunday, August 7th, 2011 11:00 a.m. FIRE INVESTIGATIONS C11-165551/ 165559 On Sunday, August 7th, 2011 at approximately 3:40 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service Division 12 Members responded to a golf course within the 2000 block of Ness Avenue for a report of a working fire. Upon arrival, officers along with members of the Winnipeg Fire Department located a number of golf carts on fire within a fenced compound. Fire-fighters extinguished the fire which is estimated to have caused in excess of $130,000.00 in damages. Then just before 4:00 a.m. officers were dispatched to the area of the 400 block of Winchester Street for a report of two separate fires, one to a garage and a second to a parked vehicle within the area. There were no reported injuries associated to these incidents. Numerous units, including a canine unit, attended to the area and a number of individuals were taken into custody. This investigation is continuing by members of the Arson Strike Force Unit. Further information is expected to be released when it becomes available.
