Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Tuesday, June 12, 2012     FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING A PEDESTRIAN - UPDATE C12-108610 As previously released, on June 8, 2012, at approximately 2:45 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a serious collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Des Meurons Street and Marion Street.   The investigation has revealed that the pedestrian was attempting to cross Marion Street in a northbound direction when he was struck by a vehicle turning eastbound. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as a 74 year old female.   As a result of the collision, the 64 year old male pedestrian has succumbed to injuries sustained.   The driver is facing charges. The investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit.   For further information contact either: Patrol Sgt.
