ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON – ARREST C12-111101
On June 11, 2012, at approximately 5:35 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a stabbing incident in the area of Cumberland Avenue and Balmoral Street.
 
Officers and other emergency personnel located a 50 year old male suffering from multiple upper body injuries.
 
The investigation has revealed that the victim and another male (49 years) had previously been consuming alcohol at a nearby suite. The two became involved in a verbal dispute when the 49 year old produced a knife and stabbed the victim. The victim fled the suite and was subsequently observed by patrolling members.
 
While investigating, officers made contact with the suspect at which time he was arrested.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit.
 
Paul Mark DEBOO, 49 years has been charged with Aggravated Assault due to his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
 
SEXUAL ASSAULT – FAIL TO COMPLY CONDITIONS OF UNDERTAKING - ARREST C12-110356
On June 10, 2012 at approximately 2:45 p.m., members of the WPS Street Crime Unit were in the area of a mall located in the St. Vital area of the city. While present, officers observed a male previously arrested for sexual assaults in the same area, interacting with two females under the age of 18 years, not accompanied by an adult.
 
Due to the fact that this interaction is contrary to the male's release conditions, officers investigated further.
 
At approximately 3:00 p.m., a30 year old male was arrested and taken into custody. 
 
He has been charged with: Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking and detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.   
 
FIRE C12-111396
On June 12, 2012, at approximately 7:35 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the 200 block of Johnson Avenue West regarding a working garage fire.
 
Two garages sustained damage which is estimated at $6000.00.
 
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and members of the Arson Strike Force have been notified.
