COMMERCIAL ROBBERY -  ARRESTS
C12-112079 & C12-112090
On Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at approximately 10:55 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of the 3700 block or Portage Avenue for the report of a robbery of a vehicle.
 
The investigation revealed that a lone 21 year old male victim while in a parked vehicle was approached by an unknown male who forced the victim out of the vehicle. The suspect male took possession of the vehicle and fled from the location in the stolen vehicle.  The vehicle was described as a four door dark coloured car.
 
The victim sustained minor injuries not requiring medical attention.    
 
Shortly after the vehicle robbery occurred, at approximately 11:43 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a commercial robbery in the area of the 3600 block of Portage Avenue.
 
The investigation revealed that three suspects attended to this location. Two of the male suspects armed with a weapon entered the business and confronted a 50 year old male employee. The suspects demanded cash, cigarettes and personal property from the victim. These items were provided and the suspects fled from the area in a dark four door vehicle being driven by a third suspect. The suspects obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes along with the victim personal property.
 
The victim was not physically injured as a result of this incident.
 
On Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at approximately 12:07 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a commercial robbery in the area of the 500 block of Pembina Highway.
 
The investigation revealed that three suspects attended to this location; two males and one female. Both male suspects armed with a weapon confronted a 29 year old male employee and demanded cigarettes and personal property from the victim. These items were provided and the suspects fled from the area in a dark four door vehicle being driven by a third suspect. The suspects obtained an undisclosed amount of cigarettes along with the victim personal property.
 
The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
The suspect descriptions in all three robberies were similar in nature.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit began an investigation of the three robberies and subsequently at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, two of the suspects were observed operating the identified stolen vehicle in the area of Allard Avenue. The suspects fled from the location at a high rate of speed and became involved in a motor vehicle collision at Ness Avenue and Parkdale Street.
 
The following suspects were immediately arrested and taken into custody:
 
Jesse Ray CAMERON, 24 years old of Winnipeg
Jenna Justine POLOWICK, 23 years old of Winnipeg
 
Jesse CAMERON has been charged with several robbery offences and was detained in custody.
 
POLOWICK has been charged with several robbery and driving offences and was detained in custody.
 
The Major Crimes Unit continued the investigation and located the third suspect on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at approximately 5:50 p.m., in the 300 block of Qu'Appelle Avenue.
 
Jamie Lee CAMERON 25 years old of Winnipeg was arrested and taken into custody. Jamie CAMERON has been charged with several robbery offences, drug related offence and warrants for arrest.
 
Jamie CAMERON was detained in custody.
 
  
THEFT - ARRESTS          C12-109459
On Saturday, June 9, 2012 at approximately 3:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 600 block of Mulvey Avenue regarding a theft incident.
 
The investigation revealed that three male suspects attended to an apartment building in the 300 block of Daly Street and stole three mountain bikes from this location and then attended to a location in the 500 block of Corydon Avenue.  The responding officers searched the area; however the suspects or bikes were not located.
Members of the Division 16 Crime Unit continued the investigation and as a result sought and were granted a search warrant for a location in the area of the 500 block of Corydon Avenue for the stolen bikes.
 
On Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at approximately 4:20 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service executed the search warrant and the following suspect was located and taken into custody:
 
  • Gregory Christen ROBERT, 33 years of Winnipeg
 
The bikes were not located. ROBERT was charged with Possess Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 and Breach of Probation. ROBERT was detained in custody.
 
On Thursday, June 14, 2012 at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of the Division 16 Crime Unit located the second male suspect at a location in the first 100 block of Garry Street. The male was charged with Theft Under $5000 and was released on an Appearance Notice.
 
A third male is yet to be arrested. A warrant of Arrest has been issued.
 
  
STRONGARM ROBBERY – ARREST    C12-11330
On Thursday, June 14, 2012 at approximately 9:30 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service were in the area of Selkirk Avenue and Arlington Street when they observed a 31 year old female victim with two children who had had just been robbed of her personal property.
 
The investigation revealed that a female suspect approached the victim and asked her for a cigarette as she was walking with her two children in the area of Selkirk Avenue and Arlington Street. The female suspect followed the victim and grabbed personal items she was wearing on her upper body. The suspect then fled from the location.
 
The victim sustained minor injury as a result of the incident.
 
The suspect was located by police a short distance away from the incident and was immediately arrested and taken into custody. 
 
A 17 year old female has been charged with Robbery X 2. She was detained in custody.
