SERIOUS SEXUAL ASSAULT - ARREST
C12-50226
As previously released – On Mach 20, 2012 at approximately 5:45 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a serious sexual assault incident involving a 22 year old female victim.
 
The victim was in the area of Main Street and Bannatyne Avenue when she was approached by an unknown male. The two engaged in a conversation as they proceeded, and eventually ended up in the area near the St. Vital Bridge. It was at this time a serious sexual assault took place.
 
The victim eventually fled the area making her way to a nearby community club, at which time the suspect followed her and stole her personal property.
 
Police were notified and members of the Winnipeg Police Sex Crimes Unit continued the investigation. As a result of the investigation, the following male suspect was identified and a warrant for sexual assault and theft under $5000 was granted and issued for his arrest.
 
  • Antoine Keyetta DRUMMOND, 42 years of Winnipeg
 
On Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 8:45 a.m., DRUMMOND turned himself over to police, at which time he was arrested and charged with sexual assault and theft under $5000.
 
DRUMMOND has been detained in custody.
 
 
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY                  C12-112222
On Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at approximately 6:55 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a commercial robbery at a convenience store in the first 100 block of Britannica Road.
 
The investigation revealed that a lone male attended to this location, confronted a 33 year old female employee and demanded cash and cigarettes. The male suspect proceeded to the counter and removed an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes and immediately fled from the location. 
 
The victim was not physically injured as a result of this incident.
 
The suspect is described as following:
Male, Aboriginal in Appearance, approximately 6'0" tall, heavy build. 
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact investigators at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
