Robberies and Theft Arrest – C14-214485
Between October 6th and 11th, 2014, a male suspect became involved in a crime spree where four victims were confronted and robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash and personal property.
 
In brief, the incidents are as follows:
 
October 6, 2014 at approximately 1:20 p.m.

  • A 52 year-old male was confronted outside a mall (800 block of Keewatin Street) after attending to an ATM machine
  • The victim is robbed of cash, however he was not uninjured
  • The suspect fled the area

October 7, 2014 at approximately 3:30 p.m.

  • A 37 year-old female was confronted outside a mall (800 block of Keewatin Street) after attending to an ATM machine
  • The victim is robbed of cash, however she was not uninjured
  • The suspect fled the area

October 9, 2014 at approximately 10:00 a.m.

  • A 63 year-old female was confronted outside a mall (800 block of Keewatin Street) after attending to an ATM machine
  • The victim is robbed of cash, however she was not uninjured
  • The suspect fled the area

October 11, 2014 at approximately 1:00 p.m.

  • A 45 year-old female while shopping at a grocery store located in the 800 block of Keewatin Street had her purse stolen from her shopping cart
  • The suspect fled

The investigation involving all four incidents continued by members of the Division 13 Crime Unit. As a result, the suspect was located and arrested at a residence in the 2000 block of Burrows Avenue.
 
Steven Anderson, 18 years-old of Winnipeghas been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
 
Robbery x 3
Theft
 
He was remanded into custody.
 
 
Residential Robbery C14-222638
On October 18, 2014 just after midnight, officers responded to a residence located in the 800 block of Sheppard Street as a result of a robbery incident involving two suspects.
 
The armed suspects confronted three occupants and began demanding cash and prescription medication. A 60 year–old male victim sustained a non-life threatening injury in the upper body.
 
After being robbed, the suspects fled and police were notified.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
Motor Vehicle Collision – Arrest – C14-222678
On October 18, 2014 at approximately 1:25 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of Lagimodiere Boulevard and Paterson Street regarding a serious motor vehicle collision.
 
At this time, the investigation has revealed that a white Toyota Tacoma was travelling southbound on Lagimodiere Boulevard near Paterson Street when it went off the road causing the vehicle to rollover.
 
As a result of the collision, a 23 year-old male was transported to hospital. He is in serious but stable condition.
 
Members of the Central Traffic Unit continued with the investigation.
 
A 44 year-old female driver was taken into custody. She is facing the following charges:
 
Driving while ability impaired causing bodily harm
Drive with more than 80mgs of alcohol in blood
 
She was released on a promise to appear.
 
   
Stabbing Investigation – C14-222662
On October 18, 2014 at approximately 12:50 a.m., officers responded to the area of the 600 block of Balmoral Street regarding two males having been stabbed.
 
A third male was also located with upper body injuries consistent with being stabbed.
 
At this time, all three males are in stable condition.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
