Join Us for Safety Expo 2014
The Winnipeg Police Service Community Relations Unit in partnership with the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ and Portage Place Shopping Centre is hosting a Safety Expo on October 24, 2014 at Portage Place Shopping Centre located at 393 Portage Avenue from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The purpose of this event is to provide public education across the safety spectrum with a goal of "Creating a Culture of Safety" in our great city.
The event will have approximately 23 exhibitors providing safety information to members of the public. The information will be varied, which will include materials ranging from workplace safety to sport safety and all things in between.
Throughout the day, members of the public will be encouraged to attend a speaker series where safety lectures will occur. Safety demonstrations will take place and special announcements will be made by: The Life Saving Society of Manitoba and Hockey Winnipeg.
We are bringing together an amazing array of committed community partners who share our vision for a stronger and safer community.
It's an opportunity for citizens to learn more about crime prevention and personal safety issues, as well as initiatives by the Winnipeg Police Service and our community partners that help address those issues.
