Thursday, October 23, 2014   Assault Police Officer Arrests – C14-225530 On October 21, 2014 at approximately 10:15 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the 500 block of Boyd Avenue for the report of a fight.   Upon arrival officers located two intoxicated adult males who had been in a consensual fight.  One of the males became belligerent with the members and began to assault one of them.  When the second officer attempted to assist his partner in subduing the male, the second male then entered the fray and grabbed hold of the second officer.   The officers were eventually able to gain control of both suspects and place them under arrest without further incident.   As a result of the altercation both officers suffered non-life threatening injuries which they later received treatment for at hospital.   Ranee Chester Thomas GREEN and Ricky Leslie GREEN, both 28 years of Winnipeg have each been charged with Assault a Peace Officer x 2.   Both were detained in custody.     Mischief Under $5,000.00 Arrest – C14-206139 On the evening of September 26, 2014 several vehicles and one residence were damaged in the area around Main Street and Murray Avenue.  Individual reports were later made to the Service.  Total damages are estimated at $20,000.00.   Members of the District 3 Crime Unit were tasked with following up the incidents and their investigation led to a suspect being identified.   On October 22nd officers located and arrested the suspect without incident.   A 21-year-old male of West St. Paul, Mb is facing charges of Mischief Under $5000.00 x 25 and Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose for his alleged involvement.   He was released via a Promise to Appear.   For further information contact either: Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Constable Eric Hofley, Public Information Officer Detective Sergeant Natalie Aitken, Public Information Officer Phone: (204) 986-3061 | Fax: (204) 986-3267 | Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca Share this mailing with your social network by clicking on the appropriate link:       Related Winnipeg Police Service Report a Crime Online Crime Stoppers CrimeStat Unsubscribe If you do not want to receive these emails anymore, unsubscribe.
