Crime Prevention Starts with a Game Plan
Together we Can Reduce Thefts from Vehicles

Winnipeg Jets fans attending tonight's home opener will likely spot Winnipeg Police Service members in and around the MTS Centre providing tips on how to protect their vehicles from vandalism and theft.  Thefts from motor vehicles are by far the most common crime reported to police every day.  By taking a few simple precautions, citizens can reduce the risk of becoming a victim of a vehicle break-in.

Remember:

  • Lock you doors and close your windows
  • Remove valuables
  • Park in well-lit areas and
  • Report suspicious activity.

As part of our on-going efforts toward crime prevention, members from Community Relations, Community Support and our Volunteers and Cadets, will be partnering with the Downtown BIZ to provide tips and distribute pamphlets to members of the public.  Officers, who will be in various parkades and parking lots around the MTS Centre, will be available to speak directly with citizens on ways they can reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim of property crime.

We All Have a Role to Play in Crime Prevention
