COMMERCIAL ROBBERIES – MEDICATION STOLEN - ARRESTS

Between December 2, 2013 and January 4, 2014, a pharmacy located in the 1400 block of Henderson Highway was robbed of prescription medication on three separate occasions.
 
On December 2, 2013 at 6:05 p.m., a male suspect entered the business and confronted staff. A handgun was produced and undisclosed amount of medication was stolen.
 
On December 18, 2013 at 10:45 a.m., a male suspect attended to the same business and confronted staff in a similar fashion. A handgun was produced and again, an undisclosed amount of medication was taken by the suspect.
 
On January 4, 2014 at 3:15 p.m., a male suspect attended to the same business and robbed the pharmacy of an undisclosed amount of prescription medication. The male suspect fled in a vehicle which was being operated by a female suspect. 

At approximately 4:20 p.m., members of the Tactical Support Team, Patrol members and members of the Canine Unit located the male suspect in the area of Beaumont Street and McGillivray Boulevard. He was arrested and taken into custody. A short time later, the female suspect was located in a vehicle while in the area of the 2100 block of Pembina Highway. She was also arrested and taken into custody.
 
A black, air-powered, BB gun and a quantity of prescription medication was recovered by officers. The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
 
Antonio COURCHENE, 29 years-old has been charged with the following offences due to his alleged involvement: Armed Robbery using a firearm x 3 and Disguise with Intent x 3.  
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
A 29 year-old female is facing a charge of: Armed Robbery using a Firearm.

She was released on a Promise to Appear.
