STOLEN VEHICLES – ARRESTS   C14-14411
On January 19, 2014, several male suspects became involved in multiple vehicle thefts at various locations within the city.
 
These incidents are as follows:
 
8:30 a.m. – (unlocked) Honda CRV stolen – Drobot Place
 
6:30 p.m. – (unlocked/left running) Lexus ES350 stolen – Ingersoll Street
 
10:40 p.m. – (unlocked/left running) Pontiac G5 stolen – Moncton Avenue
 
A short time later, Patrol members observed the stolen Pontiac and Lexus being driven erratically while in the area of Raleigh Street and Kimberley Avenue. Both vehicles attempted to evade officers. The Pontiac collided with a snow bank in the area of Golspie Street and Kimberley Avenue and the Lexus collided with a parked vehicle in the area of Golspie Street and Hazel Dell Avenue.
 
The suspects attempted to flee on foot, however due to the efforts of Patrol members and the Canine Unit they were taken into custody. One suspect remains outstanding.
 
Members of the Stolen Auto Unit continued the investigation.
 
An 18 year-old male, 15 year-old male, two 14 year-old males and a 13 year old male have been arrested and are facing numerous theft and property related offences.
