COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – C14-7166

On January 10th, 2014 at approximately 8:30 pm, members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the report of a commercial robbery at a convenience store in the 300 block of Manitoba Avenue.
 
Two armed male suspects entered the store and confronted a female employee. Shortly after, a male employee was alerted and came to help the female. A brief struggle ensued and both suspects fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
 
Both employees were uninjured as a result of the incident.
 
The first suspect is described as male, Aboriginal in appearance and 18 to 25 years-old.
 
The second suspect is described as male, 18 to 25 years-old.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit are continuing with the investigation. Anyone with information regarding this matter and/or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

 

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – C14-7119

On January 10th, 2014 at approximately 7:00 pm, members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the report of a commercial robbery at a store in the 1000 block of Main Street.
 
A male suspect, believed to be armed, entered the store and stole an undisclosed amount of liquor before he fled.
 
There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
 
The suspect is described as male, Aboriginal in appearance, approximately 20 years-old, 5'8" to 5'10" tall and 150 lbs.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit are continuing with the investigation. Anyone with information regarding this matter and/or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).


ROBBERY ARRESTS - C14-5877

On January 9th, 2014 at approximately 8:30 am, a 55 year-old female in the 500 block of Machray Avenue was robbed of her personal property by a male and female suspect.
 
At approximately 8:45 am, the male and female suspect attended to the 600 block of Anderson Avenue where they entered a residence and stole personal property, including a credit card, belonging to a 63 year-old female.
 
The male and female suspect then attended to the Polo Park area where they used the stolen credit card.
 
At approximately 8:00 pm, the male and female suspect attended to the 300 block of Enfield Crescent where they forced their way into a residence. The male suspect armed himself with a weapon and used it in a threatening manner against a 52 year-old male. A struggle ensued and the male and female suspect fled the residence. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.
 
Members of the District 3 Crime Unit continued with the investigations which lead to the arrest of the male and female suspect.
 
David JOYAL, a 31 year-old male, has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:

  • Robbery
  • Breach of Recognizance x 2
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Break Enter & Theft – Dwelling House
  • Fraud Under $5,000 x 3
  • Break & Enter with Intent – Dwelling House
  • Break, Enter and Steal a Firearm
  • Armed Robbery using a Firearm
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Use of a Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence

Tyrenne THOMAS, a 23 year-old female, has been charged with the following due to her alleged involvement:

  • Robbery
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 3
  • Break Enter & Theft – Dwelling House
  • Fraud Under $5,000

Both have been detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
