HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION – MALE YOUTH WANTED C13-61411
As previously released- on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 shortly after 4:00 p.m., Winnipeg Police Service members along with emergency services responders were dispatched to the 500 block of Langside Street for the report of gunshots.

Upon arrival officers located an adult male and female, both suffering from wounds consistent with having been shot with a firearm. Nigel DIXON, 20 years succumbed to his injuries while the female victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe that the victims were walking in the area when they were approached by the suspect group. The suspects accused the victims of being gang members. The victims denied any gang involvement and walked away to avoid any further confrontation.  While the victims were walking away, it is believed that they were followed by the suspect group.  The victims were then fired upon as they attempted to get away. Injuries to the victims support the fact that they were attempting to flee from the suspect group when they were shot. Police believe that this was a case of mistaken identity as the victims are not affiliated with any gangs.

A Canada-wide warrant for 2nd Degree Murder and Attempt Murder is currently in effect for the arrest of eighteen year old Anthony MCCLEMENTS.

Investigators have obtained a Court Order authorizing the release of MCCLEMENTS identity as he was a young offender at the time of the homicide.

MCCLEMENTS is described as: Caucasian, 18 years of age, 5'9" tall, 150 lbs., short or shaved blonde hair, facial acne, blue eyes tattoos on right forearm "Hustle to Live" and "Live to Hustle" on left forearm.  Since the above photo was taken MCCLEMENTS may have altered his appearance by changing his hairstyle, growing a beard &or moustache and covering his tattoos.

MCCLEMENTS whereabouts is currently unknown.  Media are requested to share this information with their affiliates across the country.

The investigation is continuing by the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit.  Anyone with information pertaining to MCCLEMENTS' whereabouts is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

NOTE: As the Court Order authorizing the release of MCCLEMENTS' photo expires on January 20, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. media outlets are reminded not to publish his name or photograph after that date.
