Declared Snow Route Parking Ban lifted

The public is advised that the Declared Snow Route Parking Ban that was put into effect Thursday, January 2, has now been lifted. The Declared Snow Route Parking Ban is an extension of the Annual Snow Route Parking Ban, which is in effect nightly from 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., December 1, 2013 to March 1, 2014.

This is also a reminder that a Residential Parking Ban is in effect and scheduled to run in 12-hour shifts in specific snow zones across the city from 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 5, to 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 8. Citizens are urged to confirm the snow zone letter for their neighbourhood. Motorists planning on parking on residential streets are also urged to know the snow zone letter for the area. The information is available at knowyourzone.winnipeg.ca or by contacting 311.

Sanding trucks continue to address conditions on the roadway to improve traction. Crews are currently addressing problematic intersections with grader and loader support on the regional and collector/bus route network. Sidewalk and lane clearing is also continuing through the entire network until completion.

Snow clearing operations are undertaken in accordance with the City Council-approved Snow Clearing and Ice Control Policy, which can be found online at City of Winnipeg - Snow Clearing Policy
