VEHICLE ROBBERY – C14-10604
On January 15, 2014 the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of a vehicle robbery that had occurred in the 1st 100 block of Marbury Road.
 
Officers met with the 30 year old victim who advised that shortly after 6:00 a.m. she had gone out to her car and placed her 6 year old daughter inside.  As she was sweeping the snow off the car an unknown male came up and demanded the keys.  The victim refused and the suspect produced a knife and proceeded to stab the victim in the lower body, taking her keys in the process.  Prior to the suspect driving off the victim was able to remove her daughter from the car.  The vehicle was last seen southbound on Marbury.
 
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
 
The suspect is described as: unknown race, approximately 40 years of age, tall with a skinny build and small moustache.  He was wearing white jacket possibly with yellow and other colours.
 
The vehicle is a 1998 green four door Honda Accord bearing Manitoba licence plate GMX 393.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the District 3 Crime Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-2848 or CrimeStoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
GROW OPERATION – ARREST - R14-2922
On January 15, 2014 members of the Marihuana Grow Operation Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and East District Patrol members, executed a Controlled Drugs & Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence located in the 300 block of McIvor Avenue.
 
A female was arrested at the time.
 
A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of the following:

  • 317 Marihuana plants with an estimated street value $355,000.00
  • 2.4 pounds of dry Marihuana with an estimated street value of $6,000.00
  • Grow operation equipment worth $13,000

The 49 year-old female is facing the following charges:

  • Produce a Scheduled Substance - CANNABIS (Marihuana)
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - CANNABIS (Marihuana)
  • Theft of Telecommunications (hydro)

She was released via a Promise to Appear.
