SUSPICIOUS PERSON – C13-201348
On Wednesday, October 2, 2013 the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of a suspicious person.
 
Members met with the 11 year old complainant who advised that at approximately 8:30 a.m. that morning she had been walking in the area Rue Des Meurons and Debuc Street when she was approached by an unknown male.  The male asked her for drugs and attempted to look in her backpack.  The victim kicked the male and then ran to school where she advised staff of what had occurred.
 
The suspect is described as: Caucasian, approximately 50 years old, wearing a green hoody with the hood up.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the East District Crime Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-2857 or CrimeStoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY ARRESTS – C13-204279
On October 5, 2013 at approximately 7:30 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a grocery store in the 900 block of Selkirk Avenue for the report of a commercial robbery.
 
Responding members met with the 23 year old clerk who advised that two males, one armed and with his identity concealed had attended the store.  While one of the suspects stood watch, the second suspect produced the weapon and demanded cash.  No monies were provided and the two suspects fled with some stolen merchandise.
 
A short time later the two suspects were at a residence in the 1000 block of Selkirk Avenue where an altercation between the armed suspect and another male ended with the suspect being stabbed multiple times in the upper body.  He was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Officers were able to link the involved parties to the commercial robbery and both were arrested.
 
No arrest has been made in the stabbing.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit and as a result the two males were charged for their alleged involvement in the commercial robbery.
 
Henry DUCK 24 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Robbery with Weapon and Breach of Probation.
 
Jonah Gerard MOODY 26 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Robbery with Weapon, Possession of Weapon For Dangerous Purpose and Disguise with Intent.
 
Both were detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
