COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – C13-212438
On Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at approximately 7:30 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a gas bar in the 700 block of Watt Street for the report of a commercial robbery.
 
Attending officers met with the clerk who advised that an unknown male, armed with a weapon and his identity concealed had entered the kiosk.  The male demanded cash however none was obtained and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cigarettes.
 
The clerk was not injured during the incident.
 
The suspect is described as: Caucasian, 5'6"-5'8" tall.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
STRONG ARM ROBBERY / COMMERCIAL ROBBERIES ARREST – C10-208628
In 2010 and 2011 members of the District 3 Crime Unit and Major Crime Unit investigated the reports of a strong arm robbery and two commercial robberies.  They include:

  • September 12, 2010 a 41 year old female victim was robbed of her purse in the 2100 block of McPhillips Street – C10-208628 refers
  • September 12, 2010 a commercial robbery in the 1300 block of McPhillips Street during which an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes were stolen. C10-208910 refers.
  • March 20, 2011 a commercial robbery in the 800 block of Arlington Street during which an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.  C11-054628 refers.

Investigation led to a suspect being identified.  Attempts to locate him were unsuccessful and warrants of arrest were issued.
 
On Wednesday, October 16, 2013 members of the Major Crime and District 3 Crime units attended to a residence in the 600 block of College Avenue where the suspect was located and arrested for his alleged involvement.
 
Fred Davis MCNABB 33 years of Winnipeg has been charged with multiple offences and was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
