GROW OPERATION – ARRESTS R13-71456
On October 10, 2013, members of the Marihuana Grow Operation Unit (MGO), with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and Uniform Patrol, executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at a residence located in the 400 block of McAdam Avenue.
 
A search of the residence revealed the following:
 
913 Marihuana plants – estimated street value $1,022,560.00
6lbs. of dry marihuana – estimated street value $12,000.00
Grow Operation equipment - valued at $12,000.00
Canadian currency - $2,475.00
 
Two occupants were located inside at the time of the warrant and arrested.
 
A 48 year-old female and 50 year-old male are facing several drug related offences.
 
Production of Controlled Substance
Possessing Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possess Proceeds of Crime
 
Both were released on a Promise to Appear.
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C13-208399
On October 10, 2013 at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers responded to a robbery incident at a restaurant located in the 300 block of McPhillips Street.
 
The investigation has revealed that a lone male suspect entered the business and confronted staff. Money was demanded and an undisclosed amount was obtained by the suspect before fleeing.
 
No one was injured. 
 
The suspect is described as: Caucasian, approximately 30 years old, 6'00" tall, skinny build wearing dark clothing.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
