CDSA WARRANT ARRESTS – C13-214982
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service Street Crime Unit entered into an investigation regarding the trafficking of cocaine and marihuana out of a residence in the 300 block of Hargrave Street.  As a result of the investigation a Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) Search Warrant was applied for and granted.
 
On Saturday, October 19, 2013 shortly before 11:00 a.m. with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team the warrant was executed.  Three males were located within the residence and taken into custody.
 
A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of the following:

  • Approximately 3 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $240.00
  • Ecstasy and cutting agent with an estimated street value of $7,100.00.
  • 23 grams of marihuana with an estimated street value of $230.00.
  • $3,155.00 in Canadian currency.
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • 887.6 grams of an unknown leafy substance (analysis to be done)

For their alleged involvement Chilolwa SIMUNYOLA 26 years & Philip MCKEES 23 years, both of Winnipeg have been charged with:

  • Possessing substance for purposes of trafficking – CANNABIS (MARIHUANA)
  • Possessing substance for purposes of trafficking – COCAINE
  • Possessing substance for purposes of trafficking – ECSTASY
  • Possess Proceeds of Crime (CDSA). 

Both were detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.  The third male was release without charge.
 
 
ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON ARREST – C13-215355
On Saturday, October 19, 2013 shortly before 9:00 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the 700 block of Main Street for the report of a male having been stabbed.

Responding personnel located a 31 year old male victim suffering from stab wounds to the upper body.  He was transported to hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to stable.
 
Information led to a suspect being located within a residence in the 300 block of Boyd Avenue and at approximately 10:00 p.m. he was arrested by members of the Tactical Support Team.
 
The investigation continued by members of the District 3 Crime Unit.
 
Waylon Joseph SCOTT 32 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Assault with A Weapon, Breach of Probation, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose & Assault a Peace Officer for his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – C13-215431
On Saturday, October 19, 2013 shortly after 10:30 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service members were dispatched to a beer vendor in the 2100 block of Main Street.
 
It was learned that an unknown male had entered the vendor and attended to the counter where the lone clerk was working.  The suspect produced a weapon, demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash after which he fled on foot.
 
The clerk was not injured.
 
An off duty Winnipeg Police Service member who witnessed the robbery and followed the suspect directed attending members to the area of Templeton Avenue and Aikins Street where the suspect was arrested without incident.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crime Unit.
 
Milos MAROTI 28 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Robbery and Breach of Probation for his alleged involvement.  He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
