Wednesday, October 2, 2013       ASSAULT INVESTIGATION – PUBLIC ASSISTANCE REQUIRED C13-187116 On September 14, 2013 at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to an assault that just occurred involving a City Transit Bus Driver.   The investigation has revealed that the bus was travelling eastbound on William Avenue when it stopped near Isabel Street and an unknown male suspect entered. The suspect failed to pay the required fare and began demanding a transfer from the 50 year-old male transit driver. It was at this time the suspect began assaulting the driver repeatedly causing non-life threatening injuries.   After approximately 2-3 minutes, two unknown males entered the bus attempting to intervene.
