FINANCIAL ROBBERY- UPDATE –ARREST   C13-200063
As previously released -on Monday, September 30, 2013 shortly before 4:00 p.m., Winnipeg Police Service members were dispatched to a financial institution in the 200 block of Portage Avenue regarding a robbery incident.
 
The investigation has revealed that a lone male suspect entered the business and confronted one of the employees. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken and the suspect fled.
 
No one was injured during the incident.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit. 
 
Suspect descriptors and photos were made public in an effort to identity the male involved.
 
Due to the support of the public and the media, the male suspect was identified and arrested.
 
Mark CUMMING, 56 years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with: Robbery and Disguise with Intent due to his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
 
 
FINANCIAL ROBBERY – ARREST   C13-216322
On October 21, 2013 at approximately 9:20 a.m., officers responded to a financial institution located in the 600 block of Notre Dame Avenue regarding a robbery incident that just occurred.
 
Attending members determined that an armed male suspect entered the bank while concealing his identity and confronted staff in a very aggressive manner. The suspect eventually fled on foot empty handed.
 
No one was injured during the incident.
As a result of the assistance provided by several members of the public, officers were directed to a building located in the 700 block Sherbrook Street. The male suspect was arrested a short time later.
 
Jeffery SUMMERFIELD, 37 years-old of Alberta has been charged with: Robbery with a Weapon and Disguise with Intent due to his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
