COMMERCIAL ROBBERIES ARREST – C12-249268
Between December 7, 2012 and January 14, 2013 members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to ten commercial robberies in various locations throughout the City of Winnipeg.
 
The suspect committed robberies at the following locations:

  • 2100 block of Main Street on December 7, 2012
  • 300 block of Marion Street on December 10, 2012
  • 700 block of Osborne Street on December 18, 2012
  • 1500 block of St. Marys Road on December 19, 2012
  • 800 block of Regent Avenue West on December 21, 2012
  • 1400 block of Henderson Highway on December 24, 2012
  • 1st 100 block of Marion Street on December 28, 2012
  • 100 block of Scott Street on December 28, 2012
  • 1900 block of Henderson Highway on January 7, 2013
  • 1200 block of McPhillips Street on January 14, 2013

Members of the Major Crime Unit continued with the investigation of these incidents.
 
It was learned that during these robberies the suspect wore a disguise and confronted employee(s) with a weapon, demanding money and property.
 
The combined total value of monies and property stolen during these robberies is in excess of $11,000.00.
 
As a result of the investigation, on February 7, 2013 the male suspect was located in the northeast part of the city, arrested and taken into custody without incident.
 
Rene Yvon GAUDET, 39 years of Winnipegis facing several breaches of court orders and robbery related offences.
 
GAUDEThas been detained in custody.
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERIES
On Thursday, February 7, 2013 members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of four commercial robberies that had occurred in the downtown area.
 
C13-025523- At approximately 12:30 p.m. a lone male suspect, armed with a weapon attended to a hair salon in the 500 block of Bannatyne Street.
 
C13-025655- At approximately 3:45 p.m. a lone male suspect, armed with a weapon attended to a grocery store in the 600 block of William Avenue. 
 
C13-025715- At approximately 5:00 p.m. a lone male suspect, armed with a weapon attended to a grocery store in the 400 block of William Avenue.
 
C13-025718- At approximately 5:15 p.m. a lone male suspect, armed with a weapon attended to a grocery store in the 1st 100 block of Isabel Street. 
 
An undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes was obtained during these robberies.
 
No one was injured.
 
It is believed that the same male is responsible for all four robberies.  He is described as: Caucasian, 35-50 years of age, 5'6"-5'8" in height, salt & pepper short hair, moustache / goatee and an average build.
