Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

DRUG INVESTIGATION – ARRESTS C13-29263
As a result of an on-going drug investigation, members of the East District Community Support Unit, with the assistance of Uniform Patrol and members of the Tactical Support Team, a Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant was executed on February 12, 2013 at a residence on Thunder Bay.
 
After searching the residence, the following items were located and seized by officers:
 

  • 2 ½ lbs. of Marihuana – estimated street value $7,500.00
  • $1,050.00 Canadian currency
  • Miscellaneous drug paraphernalia

 
Officers have arrested a 28 year old male and 59 year old female. They are facing the following charges:
 
28 year old male – Trafficking in Controlled Drug or Substance, Possessing Substance for purposes of Trafficking, Possess Proceeds of Crime and Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x 2.
 
59 year old female - Possessing Substance for purposes of Trafficking.
 
Both were released on a Promise to Appear.
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERIES – ARREST C13-28763
Between February 7 and February 12, 2013 members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to two commercial robberies at the same convenience store located in the 700 block of Mountain Avenue.
 
The robberies consisted of a female suspect entering the business while attempting to conceal her identity. The suspect was armed on both occasions and confronted the store clerks by demanding merchandise.
 
February 7 – 2:15 a.m. - 700 block of Mountain Avenue – Convenience Store
February 12 – 1:05 a.m. - 700 block of Mountain Avenue – Convenience Store
 
No one was injured during the incidents however, an undisclosed amount of cigarettes were stolen.
 
Due to the efforts of Uniform Patrol members, the suspect was observed in the area of the 700 block College Avenue a short time after the second robbery incident and taken into custody.
 
Amanda DELORME, 32 years of age has been charged with the following offences due to her alleged involvement: Robbery with Weapon x 2, Disguise with Intent x 2, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x 2 and Fail to Comply with Condition Recognizance x 2.
 
She was detained. 
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C13-29442
On February 12, 2013 at approximately 10:35 p.m., officers responded to a convenience store located on Watt Street regarding a robbery incident that just occurred.
 
The investigation has revealed that a lone male suspect entered the business and confronted two store clerks behind the counter. It was at this time cash and merchandise was demanded and an undisclosed amount was obtained by the suspect. Prior to fleeing, the suspect assaulted a 19 year old male clerk to the upper body causing minor injuries.
 
The suspect is described as: Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 40 years of age, 5'8" tall, medium build, clean shaven, dark coloured eyes and having a scar on the right side of his face (cheek area).
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact investigators at 204 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers 204 786-TIPS (8477).
