SERIOUS SEXUAL ASSAULT ARREST C13-27244
On Saturday, February 9, 2013 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Uniform Patrol members were dispatched to a residence located in the Elmwood area of the city regarding the report of a break and enter in progress.
Upon attending, officers located a male suspect still in the residence committing a serious sexual assault involving a female youth victim. The suspect fled, however he was taken into custody without incident after a short foot pursuit.
The investigation has revealed that the suspect forced entry into the home at which time he confronted the lone female victim.
The suspect was turned over to members of the Sex Crimes Unit who continued with the investigation.
The 14 year old male has been detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre and charged with the following offences:
- Break, Enter a dwelling house
- Sexual Assault with a Weapon x 2
- Forcible Confinement
- Robbery with Theft
- Utter Threat to cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Fail to Comply Conditions Undertaking
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C13-27958
On February 10, 2013 at approximately 8:00 p.m., Winnipeg Police Service members responded to a restaurant located in the 2100 block of McPhillips Street regarding a robbery incident.
The investigation has revealed that an armed male suspect entered the business and confronted a 41 year old male clerk. The suspect demanded cash and fled with an undisclosed amount.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as: Male, Caucasian, 5'10 tall, 35-40 years of age, thin build and short greying/white hair.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C13-27960
On February 10, 2013 at approximately 8:10 p.m., Winnipeg Police Service members responded to a convenience store located in the 600 block of Ellice Avenue regarding a robbery incident.
The investigation has revealed that an armed male suspect entered the business and confronted two male employees, 21 and 24 years of age. The suspect demanded merchandise and threatened to harm the employees. No one was injured and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cigarettes and lottery.
The suspect is described as: Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 35-40 years of age, stocky build and moustache.
