Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

                          Tuesday, February 4, 2013
 
 
THEFT INVESTIGATIONS – ARRESTS R13-6913
Between December 14, 2012 and January 30, 2013, a male and female suspect became involved in a crime spree victimizing members of the public, including several businesses.
 
The incidents are as follows: 
 

December 14, 2012 – Convenience store – 500 block of Osborne Street – wallet stolen from customer


January 2, 2013 – Communication business – 300 block of Main Street – Cellular phone stolen

 
January 10, 2013 – Electronic store – 2300 block of McPhillips Street - Cellular phone stolen

 
January 16, 2013 – Communication business – 1600 block of Kenaston Boulevard – Cellular phone stolen

 
January 22, 2013 – Electronic store – 400 block of River Avenue  - Two cellular phones stolen

 
January 27, 2013 – Parked vehicle in the area of Hargrave Street and Graham Avenue broken into – Identification stolen

 
Between January 29 and January 30, 2013 – Parked vehicle (Honda CRV) in the area of Balmoral Street and Broadway was stolen
 

The investigations continued by Division 11 and 16 Detectives.    
 
On January 31, 2013 Uniform Patrol members observed the stolen Honda CRV with two occupants travelling in the area of St. Mary Avenue.  A traffic stop was initiated and a male and female were taken into custody.
 
It was at this time officers recovered a portion of the previously mentioned stolen property. Officers also found the suspects to be in possession of several break-in instruments.
 
Martial MAYNARD, 36 years has been charged with the following offences due to his alleged involvement:
 
Possess Property Obtained by Crime x 4
Possession Break-in Instruments
Theft Under $5000.00 x 4
Drive while Disqualified (HTA)
 
He was detained.
 
A 19 year old female is facing the following charges:
 
Possess Property Obtained by Crime
Mischief Over $5000.00 – damage to a business - 300 block of Colony Street – September 9, 2012
 
The female accused was released on a Promise to Appear.
