SHOOTING INVESTIGATION UPDATE, HOMICIDE

As previously released, on Friday, February 15, 2013 at approximately 2:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a business located in the area of Main Street and Broadway.
Attending officers located a male suffering from a gunshot wound who has since succumbed to his injuries.
The victim is identified as William Edward MOAR, 24 years of Winnipeg.

RESIDENTIAL FIRE C13-031644
On Saturday, February 16, 2013 at approximately 12:00 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of Boyd Avenue for the report of a working fire.
Damage to the structure and contents is estimated at $160,000.00. No injuries were reported.
The fire does not appear suspicious at this time.
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C13-031667
On Saturday, February 16, 2013 at approximately 1:30 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a hotel in the 1st 100 block of Keewatin Street for the report of a commercial robbery.
Responding officers learned that several patrons were in the establishment when 3 male suspects, each armed with a weapon entered the premise. The suspects attended to the counter and proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of money.
A 49 year old bystander received minor injuries during the incident.
Suspect #1 is described as: male, 6' tall, with a thin build
Suspects #2 & #3 are both described as: male, 5'5" in height with a thin build

LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN POLAR PLUNGE
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Law Enforcement Torch Run in Manitoba, agencies from across the province are participating in their first annual Polar Plunge.
Approximately 100 participants are taking part in the event which is being held today at 1:00 p.m. on the southwest corner of Investors Field at the University of Manitoba.
Mascots, including Copper from the Winnipeg Police Service, Buzz & Boomer of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and others will be on scene. Hot refreshments will be available.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend and support this worthy cause. For those brave souls wishing to participate at the last minute the cost is $150.00. Any donations will be gratefully accepted and all funds raised are in support of Manitobans with Intellectual Disabilities through Special Olympics.
